Malnutrition, a significant public health concern around the globe especially here in the Philippines.
As I traveled around the said country, I was expose to its beauty and problems.
One of the problems is the malnourish children specially in the Indigenous People or IP community.
According to UNICEF everyday, 95 children in the Philippines die from malnutrition. Out of 1,000 Filipino children, 27 of them do not get past their fifth birthday. A third of Filipino are stunted, or short for their age which can be permanent, irreversible and even fatal.
That’s why in its fourth year, Mega Global Corporation’s project Mega bigay sustansya has been expanded, to help nourish more children. Last june 28,2022 at the Prime Hotel in quezon City, Mega bigay sustansya year 4 promises for more sustainable feeding days, more coverage, more engagement, and more partner.
To achieve its goal of program, MTFL partnered with Department of Science and Technology, Food and Nutrition Research Institute or DOST-FNRI, Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD, Reach Out Feed Philippines or ROFP and the Local Government Unit or LGU.
These partner agencies and organizations expressed their commitment by helping alleviate malnutrition among Filipino children.
As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a chid. Let’s lead and gear them towards a better life.
